Yes, PCOS, is quite a familiar occurrence nowadays or an offshoot of the modernized unwholesome lifestyle.

Polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, where numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) form in the ovaries. A survey by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi discloses that one in every ten Indian women suffers from PCOS. Associated health risks include menstrual cycle abnormalities, excess hair growth, insulin resistance, Type 2 Diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and high blood pressure, which also leads to infertility when untreated.
